Profile
The principal of the Firm Mo Afzal trained as a solicitor with Pinsent & Co, now Pinsent Masons, a leading UK law firm in 1990. On qualification he specialised in property and commercial litigation for institutional clients at Pinsents.
In August 1994 he joined Beachcroft Wansbroughs, now the national law firm Beachcroft LLP. There he handled all aspects of professional negligence, acting primarily for solicitors, surveyors and their insurers. He also dealt with property recovery claims.
He has made the decision to establish his own law firm that deals with Commercial Disputes and Litigation with the aim of providing a specialist service for commercial clients. Some of the advantages that such a firm can provide are better personal service and lower costs. The firm continues to deal with professional negligence claims against professionals, especially against solicitors’ negligence, and acts for a number of law firms on negligence, partnership and disciplinary matters. In 2004, the firm moved to new, purpose-built premises close to the city centre.
Mo is a visiting Lecturer in Law at the University of Aston in Birmingham. He is on the Negligence Panel for the Law Society’s Legal Complaints Service which investigates complaints against solicitors, and sits on the Discipline & Appeals Committee for the Council of Licensed Conveyancers.
Mo is also on the committee for the Institute of Asian Businesses (IAB) which is a division of the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is a governor of City College, Birmingham. In July 2007 he was nominated for the Asian Jewel Awards.
